I have got a grandsonwho does well at school,but above all, footballis his golden rule.
Kad iz škole dođe,u kut baci torbu,na nogomet hrli,na junačku borbu.
Home from school he comes, andflings his bag from sight,off he runs to football,to a hero's fight.
Pred sumrak se vratisa svoga turnira,u sobu uletida si nađe mira.
Back at dusk he comes fromhis big tournament game,bursts into his room, forpeace is now his aim.
No, istoga trenamira nema više,djedica ga zove,da zadaću piše.
But that very momentpeace has flown away:Granddad calls him: homeworkmust be done today!
U mislima svojimjoš golove niže,nikakve zadatkene može da piše.
In his head he's scoringgoals, a mighty haul;he can't write a singlehomework sum at all.
Djeda dalje viče:„Daj zadaću sredi!“Unuk knjigu zgrabimrsko u nju gledi.
Granddad keeps on shouting:"Get that homework done!"Grandson grabs his book andscowls: this is no fun!
Žurno knjigu lista,prsti brzo lete,podero se papir,kod stranice pete.
Quick he flips the pages,fingers fly and dive,and the paper tears, justat page number five.
Da je neka frkamilo mu je jasno,to se slova tuku,stigao je kasno.
Something's happened here, hesees it plain as day:all the letters fought, andhe came late to the fray!
Sad ljutito gledarupu na papiru,a slova su tihai stoje u miru.
Now he glares in angerat the hole he found;but the letters, quiet,stand still, safe and sound.
