Za mast kante imam dvije
Two Cans for Lard
Dobio sam nešto kuna,ošla' vaga i furuna.
A few kuna came my way:scales and stove have gone away.
I još k tomu gume dvije, prodao sam malo prije.
And two tyres besides, what's more,I sold just a bit before.
Pomozi mi sveti Anteza prodaju imam kante.
Saint Anthony, lend a hand:I've cans for sale, and here I stand.
Ide zima, palo inje,u trendu je sad kolinje.
Winter's near, the hoarfrost's here, kolinje's in trend this year.
Zla sudbina gice vreba.Možda netko kante treba.
Evil fate now stalks the swine;someone may need cans of mine.
Nek me prati danas sreća,jedna manja, druga veća.
May good luck be at my side:one is small, and one is wide.
Vjerujte mi, nije šala, kantama je cijena pala.
Trust me, this is not a joke:cans have dropped in price, good folk!
Prazna kanta, nije puna,za stotinu dajem kuna.
Empty can, not full, and sofor a hundred kuna it'll go.
Da ne pričam sada dulje,još peć imam na lož ulje.
Not to keep you any more:I've an oil stove, too, in store.
Peć je dobra, kao nova, grije sobu sve do krova.
Good the stove, as good as new:heats the room, and the roof beams too!
Bila sklona mi fortuna, dajem nju za tristo kuna.
Fortune has been kind to me:three hundred kuna, it will be.
Nek' sretan mi bude dan,nazovite:652 - osamsto dvadeset jedan.
Luck be with me, day's begun!Give a ring:652 – eight hundred twenty-one.
