Marijanci, Pride of Slavonia
To je pjesma što Matea kaže,učenica dične škole Vaše.
That's the poem that Matea tells,pupil of your fine school that excels.
Marjanačka smotra je folklora,sva ljepota prikazat se mora.
This is Marijanci's folklore day;all its beauty must be on display.
Ovo slavlje, da bi uljepšali,moju pjesmu sad su pročitali.
To make this celebration still more fine,they have read aloud this poem of mine.
Tu je pjesmu Alšić pročitaoi za javnost odobrenje dao.
Alšić was the one who read it throughand approved it for the public too.
Marijance da bih opisao:Vaš učitelj podatke mi dao.
To describe Marijanci as I ought,your own teacher gave the facts I sought.
Zato kažem, Stanko, puno hvala,što je pjesma svjetlost ugledala!

now my name I'll gladly tell you true,and my honest details give you too.
Ivan Benak, to je moje ime,ja sam pjesnik koji piše rime.
Ivan Benak, that's my name, and I'ma poet who writes verses all in rhyme.
Mnoge pjesme ja sam rimovaoi šest knjiga svijetu darovao.
Many poems I have rhymed, and thento the world gave six books from my pen.
Tri su knjige moje razne teme,tri za djecu tu nema dileme.
Three books have themes of every sort and kind,and three for children, clearly so designed.
Pjesama je osam uglazbljeno,tamburicom divno izvezeno.
Eight of my poems have been set to song,with tamburica embroidered all along.
