U ovome divnom časuja vam dajem osvrt mali,kako bi se s „Poetama“u svom radu upoznali.
On this wonderful occasionI will give a short review,so you'll come to know "Poeta"and the work its members do.
Tisuću i devetstotedevedeset drugog ljeta,osmog dana listopadaosnovana je „Poeta“.
In the year of nineteen hundredninety-two, it came about:on the eighth day of Octoberour "Poeta" started out.
Ni novaca, a ni stana,tada nismo mi imali.Zato smo se iz potrebesa HKUD-om povjenčali.
Neither money nor a placeof our own did we possess;so, from need, we wed the HKUD,tied the knot, and said our "yes".
No, da krenem od početka:po osnutku iste zimena daskama pozornicezačulo se naše ime.
But I'll start from the beginning:that same winter, our first year,on the boards upon the stagecame our name for all to hear.
U tih petnaest divnih ljetauspjehe smo mi nizalii na mnogo pozornicasvoje pjesme smo čitali.
Through those fifteen lovely summerswe strung successes, year by year,and upon so many stagesread our poems, far and near.
Ne samo na pozornici,već u eter mi smo slali,u knjigama, revijama,naše pjesme su čitali.
Not upon the stage alone,but on air we sent them too;and in books and magazinespeople read our poems through.
Devedeset trećeg ljeta,da bi za nas pisci znali,Šokačko smo sijelo tadasa HKUD-om osnovali.
In the year of ninety-three,so our name with writers sounded,we, together with the HKUD,Šokačko sijelo founded.
„Poete“ su sa HKUD-om,dvadesetak sijela dali,da bi pisci SlavonijeValpovštinu upoznali.
"Poeta", with the HKUD,held some twenty sijela, soall the writers of Slavoniawould Valpovština come to know.
Ukratko ću samo reći:da bi bolje za nas znali,dvjesto deset po Hrvatskojnastupa smo mi imali.
I'll just say it in a word:so they'd know us better then,all across Croatia wegave our shows: two hundred ten.
Kad uzmemo u globalu,to je sve ovako bilo:Tisuću i sedamdesetpjesnika je nastupilo.
If we take it all in all,this is what the records hold:one thousand and seventypoets have performed, all told.
Krenuo bih od Slatinei Miholjca do Baranje,Feričanci i Našice,od Osijeka do Županje.
I would start out from Slatina,Miholjac, to Baranja,Feričanci and Našice,from Osijek to Županja.
U Zagrebu na Jaranusvoje pjesme smo čitali,i Drenovce na istokus radošću smo upoznali.
In Zagreb, at the Jaran,we have read our poems through,and we gladly came to knowDrenovci, in the east, too.
Pa Vrbanju, Rešetare,Đeletovce pohađali,Brod, Orašje do Tolisekulturu smo promicali.
Then Vrbanja, Rešetari,and Đeletovci, where we'd call;Brod, Orašje, to Tolisa,we spread culture to them all.
Obišli smo Slavonijui Vezove Đakovačke,Ivankovo i Semeljcei Jeseni Vinkovačke.
All Slavonia we have toured,Đakovo's Embroideries fair,Ivankovo and Semeljci,Vinkovci's Autumns: we were there.
Za druženje ovo divnoMuza nas je povezala,i HKUD-u iz Valpova,na pomoći puno hvala.
For this lovely fellowshipit's the Muse who bound us; so,to the HKUD from Valpovomany thanks for help we owe.
Dvadesetak divnih knjigaod „Poeta“ izatkano,i po cijelom ovom svijetusa ponosom razaslano.
Some twenty lovely books were spunby "Poeta", thread by thread,and throughout this whole wide worldsent with pride, and widely spread.
I kroz ovih petnaest ljetatri su zbirke iznjedrili,da bi ovo čovječanstvosa ljepotom podarili.
In these fifteen summers, too,three collections came to birth,so that they might give mankindgifts of beauty here on earth.
Dok „Poetska svitanja“ sudala radost i veselje,„10 godina Poeta“,ostvarenje davne želje.
While "Poetic Dawns" has givenjoy to us and glad delight,and "10 Years of Poeta"brought a long-held wish to light.
„Snovi stihom izvezeni“to je treća naša knjiga,od „Poeta“ iznjedrena,naš je ponos, naša dika.
"Dreams Embroidered in Verse"is the third book we have penned,brought to life by our "Poeta":our pride and glory without end.
Kad napiše svoju knjigu,pjesniku je svakom dikapa i onda, kad ga nema,ostala je časna slika.
When he's written his own book,every poet feels the pride;even when he's gone from us,his honoured image will abide.
I HKUD-u nek' je zato,ponos što smo im sekcija.I Valpovu našem gradu,jer nas znade sva nacija.
And so let the HKUD beproud that we're its section here,and our town of Valpovo too,since the nation knows us, far and near.
