Slikar zeko
Bunny the Painter
Jutros se u dvorištudigla strašna graja, jer netko je kokicamaofarbao jaja.
In the yard this very morningsuch a racket rose:someone painted all the hens' eggs, who, nobody knows!
Jedne žute, druge plave,a treće na točke.Obojena su i jajaispod stare kvočke.
Some were yellow, some were blue, some with dots, and theneven eggs were painted underthe old broody hen!
Ljutile se koke glasnopijetlu kvocat stale,pa su u toj silnoj grajii optužbe pale.
Loud and angry, all the hensclucking to the rooster came, and in all that mighty racketthey began to lay the blame.
A pijetao prepun jadadvorištem se šeta.Da bi lakše naš'o krivcasa ograde gleda.
And the rooster, full of sorrow, paces round the yard;so he'll find the culprit sooner, from the fence he's looking hard.
Pogledom je sve motrio,čak i malog žuću:guske, patke, kravu bjelku,pa i našu kuću.
He kept watch on everything, little Žućo too:geese and ducks and Bjelka the cow,and our house in view.
I na kraju on opazikraj ograde uši,a to zeko svoje šapeobojene suši.
And at last he spied some earsby the fence nearby:it was bunny, holding outhis painted paws to dry.
Mislim da je svima jasnotko je majstor bio.Eto, djeco, to je zekojaja obojio.
I think everyone can seewho the master was today:there, dear children, it was bunnywho had painted them that way!
