Ulica je moja slavnanajljepša u gradu,s jedne strane red je kuća,a stoje u hladu.

Famous is this street of mine,the finest in the town;on one side a row of housesshaded up and down.

S druge strane Karašicašto polako teče.Voda često bude mutnapa nosi i smeće.

On the other, Karašicaflowing on so slow;often, too, its water's muddy,bringing trash in tow.

Cijelog dana mnogi ljudivode svoje štencepa vam dođe ta ulicakao pseći WC-e.

All day long, so many peopletake their pups to pee,so this street of ours becomesjust a doggy WC.

Eh, da vidi, što bi reklaBarunica Dora.Svaki stanar ispred kućesokak čistit mora.

Ah, if she could see it, what wouldBaroness Dora say?Everyone must sweep the sokakby his house each day.

Valpovačku molim Vladu,da ne skidam svece,nek' ulici mojoj dadunaziv: PSEĆI WC-e.

Valpovo's council, hear my claim:lest I curse the saints, agreethat my street be given the name:THE DOGGY WC.

Translator's note. His street in Valpovo is named after the composer Dora Pejačević (1885–1923), whom he calls "Baroness Dora"; the Karašica river runs along it.
