Onaj pozdrav koji ste mi dali,na skupštini umirovljenika,ostat će mi kao uspomena,draga mi je to bila prilika.

The greeting that you gave me on that dayat the pensioners' assembly, where we met,will always stay with me, a keepsake dear,that dear occasion, which I won't forget.

Prijateljski osmijeh s Vašeg lica,toga časa bila mi je dika.Slušajući moje recitale,Vi cijenite mene k'o pjesnika.

The friendly smile I saw upon your facewas, in that hour, my pride, a joy to see;and, as you listened to my recitations,you showed you valued the poet in me.

Poštovana gospođo Marija,to je bila jedna radost mala,ta ljepota knjigu Vam je dala,koja će Vam sama reći: HVALA!

My most respected Madam Marija,that was a little joy, a small delight;that beauty's why this book is yours by right,and by itself it says "THANK YOU!" outright.
