Imam jednog dragog prijatelja,mnogi ljudi iskreno ga vole,a Božidar Golik on se zove,od miline njega zovu Bole.
I've a friend, and he is very dear;many people love him, truly, wholly.Božidar Golik is his given name,but the people fondly call him Bole.
Bole vam je pjesnik onaj pravi,mnoge pjesme on je rimovao,mnogo ljudi znaju ga na javi,devet knjiga do sad darovao.
Bole is a poet, real and true;many poems he has put in rhyme;many people know him in person, too;nine books he has given by this time.
Da vam kažem kako Bole diše,razne teme on je pisat znao.Ima knjiga koje i sad piše,naslove bih knjiga napisao.
Let me tell you of our Bole's ways:on many themes he knew just how to write;there are books he's writing still these days;the titles of his books I'll now recite.
U početku, bilo je to davno,ljubavna je koju ljudi vole.Po imenu: "Radosti života",prvu knjigu napisao Bole.
At the start (and that was long ago),a book of love, which people love so wholly,and its title was "The Joys of Life":that first book was written by our Bole.
Nije prošla ni godina dana,druga knjiga: "Stazama zavičaja"Ta je knjiga bila vrlo znana,piše radost ljubavnoga raja.
Not a single year had passed, and herecame the second: "Along the Paths of Home";that book was widely known, both far and near;the joy of love's own heaven fills that tome.
Naslov knjige "Srce u plamenu"dv'je tisuće u devetom ljetu,napisao Bole knjigu znanu,tužnu knjigu o bolu i ratu.
"A Heart in Flames": that is the book's own name,written in the year two thousand nine;Bole wrote this book of well-earned fame,a sad book, pain and war in every line.
Uplovio već je u desetu:"Pjesme za djecu", piše nove šeme,one su vam najbolje na svijetu:"Mali snovi" na istu su temu.
He has sailed into the tenth with ease:"Poems for Children", in a brand-new scheme;and in all the world, the best are these;and "Little Dreams" is on the selfsame theme.
Eto stiže već do pete knjige:"Slavonija u paklu i raju"!Te su pjesme pisane od brige,o našem se radi zavičaju.
And now he's come already to book five:"Slavonia in Hell and Paradise"!These poems out of worry came alive:our homeland is the place where their heart lies.
Moj prijatelj piše i romane,zove se: "Suze na putu nade"!Sa olovkom ispunjava dane,o pisanju sve što treba znade.
My friend writes novels, too, not only rhyme,and one is called "Tears on the Road of Hope"!With pencil in his hand he fills his time;he knows the art of writing, all its scope.
Sedma nosi naziv: "Putne staze"!Svaka pjesma neku tugu daje,pa ti suze bolom oči kvase,čitatelju ona tužno traje.
The seventh one is titled "Travel Ways"!In every poem there's some grief to find,so tears of pain come welling in your eyes,and it lingers sadly in the reader's mind.
Deveta je: "Kazaljka života"!Tu je knjigu ljubav okitila,čitati ju prava je divota,jer ljubav je svakom biću mila.
"The Hand upon Life's Clock" is number nine!With love this book has been adorned, and soto read it is a joy, a thing divine,since love is dear to all things here below.
Eto, to je moj prijatelj Bole,knjige piše, ne znaš im ni broja,te sve knjige čitatelji vole,a posebno, on je dika moja.
So there you have him, that's my friend, our Bole;he writes his books, their number none can tell,and all these books the readers love so wholly,and most of all, he is my pride as well.
