Na njedrima Panonske Mursele,Petrijevci se udobno smjestili.Karaševo nježno prigrlili,jer su oni tu oduvijek bili.
On Pannonian Mursela's breastPetrijevci settled, snug, to stay,held Karaševo tenderly, for theyhave been here forever, to this day.
Na Sigetu nekad crkva bila,Nikoli je svetom posvećena.Prije mnogo ljeta sagrađena,pučanstvu je bila namijenjena.
Once, on Siget, stood a church of old,to Saint Nicholas was consecrated;many summers back it was created,for the common people designated.
Tisuću sedamsto pedeset 4.,Petrijevčani crkvu sagradili,glavni oltar u crkvi su tada,Apostolu Petru posvetili.
In the year of seventeen fifty-fourPetrijevci folk built a church anew,and they then devoted its high altarto the Apostle Peter, as was due.
Od devetsto devedeset treće,Petrijevačka Općina postoji.Tri tisuće sedamdeset ljudi,ona skupa sa Satnicom broji.
From the year of nineteen ninety-threeour Municipality has come to stay;three thousand and seventy souls in all,counting Satnica, it has today.
Još odavno, u samom početku,Općina je roditeljski bila,pa je nježno u okrilje svojei Satnicu k sebi prigrlila.
Long ago, right at its very dawn,like a parent, it has played its part,and beneath its wing, with tender care,took in Satnica, held it to its heart.
Petrijevčani sad ponosno slave,osamnaesto ljeto postojanja.Punoljetna Općina je sada,vidljivo je iz njenoga rada.
Now Petrijevci proudly celebratesits eighteenth summer of existence here;and the Municipality's full-grown,as its work has very clearly shown.
Petrijevački centar sad izgleda,kao divni trg od Velegrada.Za ljepotu Republike naše,zaslužna je to Općinska Vlada.
Petrijevci's centre looks todaylike the splendid square of some great town;for the beauty of our own Republic,the Municipal Government earns renown.
Petrijevce nova škola krasii dvorana športska suvremena.A Općini to je ponos sada,za potrebe što je izgrađena.
Now a new school graces Petrijevci,and a modern sports hall proudly stands;the Municipality's proud of these,built to meet the village's demands.
Umjetničku udrugu kulturei to blago Republika ima.Da "NIKOLA to je ŠUBIĆ ZRINSKI“,što u selu pruža radost svima.
A society of arts and culture:the Republic has that treasure here;it's "Nikola Šubić Zrinski", the namethat brings all the village joy and cheer.
A "ŽETVENA SVEČANOST" kad dođe,kad se skupi Šokadija mlada.Kad na bini kolo zavijori,a pod šatrom svakojakog slada.
And when the "Harvest Festival" comes near,when the young Šokadija gather round,when the kolo flutters on the stage,and in tents all kinds of treats abound.
Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvosto dvadeset sedam ljeta broji.Žensku četu sebi pridodalii limenu glazbu osnovali.
And the Volunteer Fire Brigadecounts a hundred twenty-seven summers;they have added on a women's crew,and a brass band they have founded too.
Zaštitnika svoga obnovili,svojim radom dom su izgradili,mnoge snažne vatre ugasilii sa ZRINSKIM veselja su dali.
They restored their patron saint like new,with their work they built their firehouse too,and put out strong fires, and not a few,and with "Zrinski" put on merry days.
"OMLADINAC" Republiku krasi,najbolji je u ovome kraju,pogotovo kad golove nižu,hrabri momci svoj posao znaju.
"Omladinac" graces our Republic;it's the best in these parts, any day,most of all when goal on goal they score:the brave lads know their job and how to play.
Trgovina ovdje dosta imai robe je od njih svaka puna.Kupili bi ljudi sve i svašta,ali narod nema dosta kuna.
There are plenty of shops here, and allof them are stocked with goods, row after row;people would buy anything and more,but the folk don't have the kunas, though!
Bregovitu ulicu kad prođeš,i na zapad Republike dođeš.Desno stoji industrijska zona,a na lijevo?! Jadna, majko, moja!
When you've passed along Bregovita Street,and the Republic's western end you meet,to the right there's the industrial zone,and the left?! Oh, mother, hear me moan!
Pa pređimo još i Karašicu,u „JELENGRAD“ na piće il' hranu,Sve što želiš „JELENGRAD“ ti nudi,bilo noću il' možda po danu.
Then let's also cross the Karašica,to "Jelengrad" for a drink or bite;all you want, "Jelengrad" has for you,whether it's by day or else by night.
Često idem u kafić "KOD LUKE".Kad "IN" prođem, u "PLITVICE" dođem.Još "HOLLYWOOD", zatim nema više.Pa na kavu odoh ja "KOD MIŠE".
Often I go to the café "Kod Luke".When I pass the "In", to "Plitvice" I go.Then there's "Hollywood", and that's the lot;so for coffee to "Kod Miše" I trot.
Za sve ovo što sam napisao,nek' uspjeha bude k'o do sadai za procvat Republike naše:nek' se bira opet ista Vlada.
For all this that I have written down,may success go on as it has been,and for our Republic's flowering,let the same Government be voted in!
