O prazniku peku se kolači,za tu svrhu treba orah naći.
For holidays the cakes are baked with care,and walnuts must be found to put in there.
Orasima tortu filovanu,čokoladom slatkom premazanu.
A torte that's filled with walnuts through and through,and spread with sweetest chocolate on top, too.
Pa medine šape svima znanei oblatne fino rolovane.
And bear's-paw biscuits, known to all by name,and finely rolled-up wafers, just the same.
A gužvaru k'o noga debelu,orasima dobro napunjenu.
A gužvara as thick as a leg, you see,with walnuts filled as full as it can be.
Ništa bolje od kolača nema,nego kad se orasima sprema.
There is no better cake that one can bakethan one with walnuts — that's the cake to make!
Mnoge žene, dabome, to znaju,kakvu vrijednost orasi imaju.
And many women know it, sure enough:how much the walnut's worth — it's precious stuff.
Zato treba orah da se nađe,jer je dobar za svake kolače.
