O Podravina, homeland of mine,Sopje nestled in your gentle hold;the municipal seat's been here of old,took nine villages into its fold.

Fourth of May's the Municipal Day;people make to Florian their vowthat no great fire like Patoš strike again:Sopje folk remember it even now.

In Višnjica they celebrate the day,councillors, a small reception laid,hand out prizes in the proper way,so all know the gifts to Sopje made.

Sopje's people farm and till the land;fertile fields give fruit to those who sow;they rejoice in beauty close at hand,so they live in paradise below.

Springtime sees the maypoles in the ground:that's how lads tell girls what's on the way,for when autumn's weddings come around,let the girls be ready for that day.

When the Dravsko proljeće dawns again,it's the people's folklore on full show;KUD "Podravac" celebrates it then:that's a beauty you must come to know.

Hungary's and our own KUDs draw near,flocking into Sopje for the Spring;when the splendid dancers gather here,and through Sopje their parade they bring,

then the kolo KUD "Podravac" winds,and a Šokica lets out her cry,on the tambura strings ring loud and high,over Luka, to Greda, the echoes fly.

Vidovo's a feast so fine and fair,Sopje's church fair, held since days of old;all the truest friends are gathered there,all the good old customs to uphold.

St John's Day is honoured as before,finely staged, in beauty, every part,by the "Sports Recreation" club once more,given Sopje with a joyful heart.

When Mary Magdalene's day draws nigh,second church fair Sopje keeps each year,then through Sopje beauty passes by:customs of the church feast, held so dear.

For as long as Slavonia stays,our Šokadija will gather still,there'll be merriment as in old days,with tamburas played by men of skill.

Football club "Podravac", far renowned,counts its summers back to long ago;first in all of Sopje's lands around,as the official records clearly show.

And the Volunteer Fire Brigadecounts some hundred little years today;fires in Sopje, and not far away,with its work it quells without delay.

And the fishing club they call "Šaran"often catches fish in traps, and whenit has caught a catfish, ten kilos,there's a fish-stew party there and then.

"Sopjanski Bećari", tambura band,when on tamburas they tune the strings,and when Sopje's merriment they make,then each Sopje street resounds and rings.
