Čađavica Is a Thriving Place
U ljepoti naše Slavonijetu vijuga cesta od davnine,povezuje sela i gradove:MAGISTRALA to je Podravine.
In the beauty of our Slavoniawinds a road that since of old has run,linking villages and towns together:the Podravina Highway, the main one.
Na tom dijelu naše Panonije,pružila se Podravska ravnica.U ljepoti na domaku Drave,smjestilo se mjesto Čađavica.
On this stretch of our Pannonian landthe Podravina plain spreads far and wide;in its beauty, close to the Drava,there Čađavica nestles at its side.
Spominje se u šestom stoljeću,na tom mjestu ZAGOCHA se znala.Povijest kaže u stoljeću sedmom:ZAGOCHA se ČAĐAVICOM zvala.
It is mentioned in the sixth century:on this spot Zagocha was the name;in the seventh century, history says,Zagocha then Čađavica became.
Tisuću tristo trideset četvrte,BOGOMOLJU ljudi sagradili.Svetom Petru dičnog apostola:oltar crkve časno su nazvali!
In the year thirteen hundred thirty-fourpeople built a house of prayer with grace;to Saint Peter, glorious apostle,they named the altar of that holy place!
Dva stoljeća već postoji škola,na tisuće đaka izučila,a Davorin Trstenjak se zove:mnogo mudrih glava iznjedrila!
Two whole centuries the school has stood,thousands of its pupils it has taught;Davorin Trstenjak is its name:many clever heads to light it's brought!
Od davnina općina postoji,deset sela sada joj pripada,strukturu je infra izgradila,tu napredna politika vlada.
From of old the township has been here,ten villages today are in its hand;it has built its infrastructure up,and progressive policy rules the land.
Još i poštu Čađavica ima,čak i banku gdje se novac prima.Tu je doktor pa i apoteka,za svu boljku tu se nađe lijeka.
Čađavica has a post office too,even a bank, where money's kept for you.There's a doctor, and a pharmacy, what's more:for every ailment there's a cure in store.
Već je prošlo mnogo desetljeća,Čađavicom Ćiro prolazio,od Slatine do grada Osijeka,putnike je mnoge prevozio.
Many decades now have come and gonesince Ćiro passed through Čađavica here;from Slatina to Osijek townit carried many passengers each year.
Tu je tada i stanica bila,putnici su karte kupovali.Stanica je tu ostala ista,samo su je birtijom prozvali!
And a station stood here in those days,where travellers bought tickets long ago;still the station's standing, just the same,only now they call it "the tavern", though!
Nekada se tu i žito mljelo,i pilana kod Lazičke bila.Svega bilo u tadašnje vrijeme,a krčma je Čarugu častila.
Once the grain was milled here, in times past,by Lazička a sawmill could be found;there was plenty of everything back then,and the inn would stand Čaruga a round.
Sada ima trgovine dvijei semafor Čađavicu krasi,ona ima benzinsku crpku,da se motor vozila ne gasi.
Now there are two shops in the village here;Čađavica's decked with a traffic light;it has got a petrol pump as well,so that no car's engine stalls outright.
Petrovo je kirvaj Čađavice.Dan općine toga dana traje.Dolazim u goste kod Marice,alaj volim stare običaje!
St Peter's Day is Čađavica's fair,and the Township Day is held that day;I come round as Marica's guest, and there,how I love the good old-fashioned way!
KUD „Podravina“: folklor-tamburaši,kad nastupe čuje se veselo.Svu ljepotu Čađavici daju:napredno je to Šokačko selo!
