Kad zaigra kolo na Čimenu
When the Kolo Starts on the Čimen
Kunišinci and Mar'janci village, here are honoured all our Šokac people, and the young folk dancers come togetherunderneath Saint Anthony's tall steeple.
Kunišinci sees the parade going, girls and young wives sing as it advances;and with music to the Čimen flowing,it's the festival of our folk dances.
Here the local council's stood for ages, chose Our Lady's feast, a day to treasure;sports and games, and then the fish-stew contest, gave the people beauty beyond measure.
People of Mar'janci, proud and worthy,in their village, their own KUD they founded,"Slavonka Vila" — far the name sounded —and the kolo on the Čimen bounded.
Just as long as there is Slavonia, our Šokadija will keep on coming;on the Čimen they will dance the kolowith the good tambura players strumming.
Na Čimenu kad zaigra kolo, tankovito kad vrisne šokicai kad cikne na tamburi žica, tada ječi slavonska ravnica.
When the kolo starts upon the Čimen, when a Šokica's high whoop goes wingingand the tambura string shrills out, singing, then the whole Slavonian plain is ringing.
