Thanks as well to Jozo Šantakfor the facts he gave with care,so my poem about Sopjehas its history written there.

Te podatke o mom selu,Šantak ih je dobro znao.Zbog toga mu puno hvala,na pomoći što mi dao.

All these facts about my village,Šantak knew them through and through.That is why I thank him warmlyfor the help he gave me, too.

Kažem da je ova pjesmai povijesno napisana,neka bude zato javno,Sopjanima prikazana.

And I say this poem's writtenas true history, and solet it now be shown in public,for the Sopje folk to know.

Ova pjesma moga selai književnu vrijednost ima.Neka bude kao spomen:poklonjena Sopjanima.

And this poem of my villagehas its literary merit;let it stand as a remembranceSopje's people shall inherit.

Zato kažem još jedanput:gospon' Šantak puno HVALA!Što je ova moja pjesmasvjetlost dana ugledala.

So I'll tell you one more time:Mister Šantak, THANKS, I say!Since this poem of mine at lastcame to see the light of day.
