Dva potoka, dvije rijeke
Two Streams, Two Rivers
Pod Papukom usred šume, ima stari grad Ružica.Tu izvire mali potok, nazvali su ga Vučica.
Under Papuk, deep in woodland, stands the castle of Ružica;there a little stream springs up,and they named it the Vučica.
Near Zvečevo, a second streamletgrows, and it's our pride and fame;then through Voćin it goes strolling, there Voćinka is its name.
Brzim tokom niz planinu, jedne jako hladne zime,u žurbi je mali potokizgubio svoje ime.
Rushing swiftly down the mountain, one hard winter, bitter cold,in its haste the little streamletlost the name it had of old.
In the valley it grew calm;whether as a whim or joke,Karašica it was namedby the local country folk.
Out in nature, on it flows;water on to water goes;and so, gently, bit by bit, from a stream a river grows.
I sad dvije rijeke teku, ravnim poljem krivudaju.
And two rivers now are flowing, winding over level ground;they are festive, woven sashesthat adorn Slavonia round.
Stopiše se dvije rijekeu ljepoti žitnih snova,Karašica i Vučica,u dolini kraj Valpova.
The two rivers flow together, lovely as the dreams of wheat,Karašica and Vučica,in the vale at Valpovo's feet.
Further flows the Karašica, yielding to the Drava's tide, and the Drava, by Aljmaš,is the Danube's wedded bride.
