Drava Spring
„VEZOVI“ su Đakovački,a „JESENI“ Vinkovačke,Sopjani su blizu Drave,pa „PROLJEĆE DRAVSKO“ slave.
Đakovo has its "Embroideries",Vinkovci its "Autumns" too;Sopje folk, the Drava near,hold their "Drava Spring" each year.
Tridesetog travnja Sopjespretno veze kolo sreće,jer Sopjani toga danaslave „DRAVSKO PRAMALJEĆE“.
On the thirtieth of AprilSopje weaves a joyful ring,for upon that day its peoplecelebrate the "Drava Spring".
Za druženje ovo slavnosvi KUD-ovi dobro znaju,skupljaju se toga dana,da ljepotu Sopju daju.
Of this famous get-togetherevery KUD is well aware;on that day they all assemble,bringing Sopje beauty there.
Dolaze već godinamaSlavoniju da proslave.Iz Mađarske dični ljudi,lađom plove preko Drave.
Year on year they have been coming,all Slavonia to hail;worthy folk from Hungaryby boat across the Drava sail.
Dočeka ih KUD „PODRAVAC“,od sreće se bratski grle,pa kad kolo odigraju,veselo u Sopje hrle.
There KUD "Podravac" receives them;hugging, brothers glad to meet;then, the kolo danced, they gailythrong to Sopje's village street.
Mnoga društva iz Mađarske,svoja kola su igrali:Barč, Martinci, Pečuh, Starin,ljepotu su Sopju dali.
Many groups from Hungarydanced their kolos in that place:Barč, Martinci, Pečuh, Starin,lending Sopje beauty's grace.
U jesen će KUD „PODRAVAC“,Mađarskoj posjet vratiti,svu ljepotu našeg kraja,Mađarima on će dati.
In the autumn KUD "Podravac"will repay the Hungarians' call,and our region's every beautyit will carry to them all.
Kad se skupe svi KUD-ovii povorka Sopjem prođe,sva ljepota te priredbedo vrhunca slave dođe.
When the KUDs have all assembledand the march through Sopje goes,all the splendour of the pageantto its peak of glory grows.
U tom času žica cikne,zaigraše cure snaše,s igrom su razigralimnogobrojne folkloraše.
At that moment strings ring out,girls and young wives take the floor,and their dancing sets a-dancingfolk performers by the score.
Kad se kolo zavijori,noge pletu, sve se praši.Tankovito cura vrisne,običaji to su naši.
When the kolo swirls and flutters,feet are weaving, dust flies high;shrill and thin a girl cries out:these are customs we live by.
I, tako se razmjenjujuslavna društva ovog kraja.S ljepotom nošnja krasiovaj dio našeg raja.
And so, turn by turn, come forthfamous troupes of local birth;costumes, with their beauty, gracethis, our little heaven on earth.
I priredba sve polakoprimiče se svome kraju.Na redu su tamburaši,da pokažu sve što znaju.
And the festival, so slowly,draws on to its close, and so,next in line, the tambura playersshow off everything they know.
Već i polnoć tiho kuca,a veselje Sopjem teče.Opet ćemo do godineslaviti „DRAVSKO to PROLJEĆE“.
Softly midnight's knocking now,yet through Sopje joy will pour;next year we'll return to hailthat same "Drava Spring" once more.
