Dolazak zime
The Coming of Winter
Jesenje kiše tjeraju ljeto,lišće polako žuti.Po cesti vjetar prašinu dižei huči – valjda se ljuti.
The autumn rains are driving summer out,the leaves turn slowly yellow;along the road the wind whips up the dustand howls: perhaps he's cross, the fellow.
Vjeverica mala hranu skuplja,u svoju je ostavu sprema.Na topli jug su otišle laste,ni roda više nema.
A little squirrel gathers up her foodand stores it in her pantry there;the swallows have flown off to the warm south, and not a stork is anywhere.
Berači zrele plodove berui poljem pjevaju glasno.Uskoro, djeco, doći će zima,to nam je sada jasno.
The pickers gather in the ripened fruitand sing across the fields, loud and clear.Soon, children, winter will be on its way:we all can see that it is near.
