When you set out on the Podravina roadlinking all Slavonia's flatlands wide,from Suhopolje through to Čađavica,the first road that runs by Drava's side.

The most important village here is Sopje,a municipality since days of old;in the lovely Podravina countrynine villages it gathers in its fold.

To the east, but on the left-hand side,Gornje Predrijevo is nestled in,and on the right lies Nova Šarovka,which in olden days Čomborje had been.

When from Šarovka you head off westward,there's Grabić village — nothing new, you know.Here there was Ciganka too, of old,which is called, these days, Josipovo.

When one day you come to visit Sopje,the folk are good, and treat all people fair;all you need, in Sopje you will find it,hospitality two taverns share.

Now let's go on to Sopjanska Greda:that is where the football pitch is laid out;when the club "Podravac" scores goal on goal,all the fans will yell and scream and shout.

And the "Sports Recreation" Associationhas been part of Sopje's life for many a year;bringing beauty to its native village,and it stages the old customs, held so dear.

When the "Drava Springtime" comes around,they plant majipane in Patoš then;on Ivanje, with the bonfires' beauty,they perform the village customs once again.

KUD "Podravac" is the village's pride,proudly playing all Slavonia's lands;tambura players and the dancing bandswin their triumphs all by joining hands.

Here, long ago, was Ritska Ada's place;it brought the poet forth from its embrace.It is still here, only hidden away,and the poet's childhood dreams there to this day.

Now let's slowly head off to the west,and we'll come to Kapinci village, where,in "Figare", in the year forty-six,Tito settled folk from Dalmatia there.

And Vaška's been a village from of old,with a kirvaj, not just one, but three:Saint Valentine's, Saint James's and Saint Roch's —there you are, real customs, as they should be!

Straight past Vaška you will find Novaki,and Đota and Zidina to the right;here you'll hear the stags' deep roaring, too —oh, dear God, it's such a sweet delight!

In Višnjica there was once a farmstead,in the old days, many summers ago;builders came and put a hotel up,and here rural tourism came to grow.

There's no finer building in those parts;it's built to serve all needs of village life:for meetings and for outings of all kinds,and for weddings, when a lad takes a wife.

There's a stud farm here, with horses, too,and new stables built the modern way,and all nature, far as eye can see,gives the tourists pleasure every day.

When you've gone through all, you'll reach Španat,and Španat, too, lies in our work and care;all this beauty of the Podravina,there, that is what's Sopje's rightful share!
