Đacima Osnovne škole Bartola Kašića, Zagreb
Occasional verse and dedications
To the Pupils of Bartol Kašić Primary School, Zagreb
Jednog dana usred bareSastale se mnoge žabe,Da se bore protiv rode,Usred ove barske vode.
One day, deep within the bog, there assembled many a frog, all to fight the stork, their foe,in the marshy waters low.
Ja vas molim pročitajte,Što u bari žabe rade.Sastanak su održaleDa se riješe rode mlade.
Please, I beg you, read and findwhat the frogs get up to here:how they held a meeting, sothe young stork would disappear!
Ak' vam ova knjiga mojaZadovoljstva pruži maloI meni bi, vjerujte mi,Toga časa radost dalo!
If this book of mine should bringyou some pleasure, just a touch, then, believe me, at that momentit would please me very much!
Poštovani, dragi đaci,Divne škole svi prvaci,Dobar uspjeh i veseljeRoditelji vam a žele!
Honoured pupils, children dear,first-years of a fine school here, good success and gladness tooare your parents' wish for you!
