Brodolomac
The Castaway
Kao brodolomac na olujnom morusrce mi je bolno, oduzete ruke.Nemam čuna, vesla, ni vodilju zoru,da ja sretno stignem do ljubavne luke.
Just like a shipwrecked sailor on a stormy sea,my heart is full of pain, my arms hang numb and weak;no boat, no oar, no guiding dawn is left to meto reach the port of love, the harbour that I seek.
Sudbina je htjela da mi ruke pružiš,onoga trenutka, kada tonu lađe.Da sam opet voljen i da žarko ljubimod toga saznanja ništa nije slađe.
Then fate decreed that you should reach your hands to methe very moment when the ships sink down below. That I am loved again, and ardently in love:there's nothing sweeter than the knowledge that it's so.
Dala si mi sebe i sreću i radost,a moje patnje bile su preduge.Probudila ljubav i zaspalu mladost,za jedan pogled pun čežnje i tuge.
You gave yourself to me, and happiness and cheer, when I had suffered far too long, and all in vain;you woke my love, and woke my youth that slept, my dear, with one sad glance, so full of longing and of pain.
Ja opet živim, gledam žarko suncei jutarnju rosu kako trava pije.I dalje moje spavalo bi srce,da ga tvoja ljubav probudila nije.
I live again; I see the burning sun on highand how the thirsty grass drinks up the morning dew;and to this day my heart in slumber still would lie,if your love had not come and woken it anew.
Da ti kažem hvala, ne, ja ipak ne ću,ja ti dajem srce što za tobom žudi.Ti si zaslužila radost još i većui poljupce slatke kada zora rudi.
To tell you "thank you"? No, I won't; I'll give you more:my heart is what I give, the heart that longs for you.You have deserved a joy still greater than before, and sweetest kisses when the dawn comes blushing through.
