Sinoć stigoh kući malo kasno,s promocije jedne knjige časno,i pročitah par pjesama jasno,sve su pjesme napisane krasno.
Last night I got home just a little latefrom a book's launch, an honoured, worthy fête,and read some of its poems, clear and straight:and every poem in it was first-rate.
Književnost je ukrašena s time.Već polako i zorica sviće.Još me drže te predivne rime,od radosti popio sam piće.
Our literature's adorned with this display;already, slowly, dawn begins to break;those lovely rhymes still hold me in their sway;for joy I've had a drink, just for their sake!
Knjigu gledam, već su sitni sati,čitao bih, al ne mogu više.Ovu knjigu moram pročitati,jer predivne pjesme Bole piše.
I look at the book: the small hours are here;I'd read on still, but I can't any more;I have to read it all, that much is clear:such lovely poems Bole has in store!
Daj Muzama svoju ruku pruži,tebi, Bole, želim sretne dane.Pero spretno da papirom kruži,da deseta knjiga skoro svane.
Come, reach your hand out to the Muses, friend!To you, Bole, I wish happy days, and mayyour nimble pen keep circling without end,so that your tenth book soon will see the day.
